Position Overview: In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring our bakery’s success. As a Lead Sales Associate, you will assist customers, maintain product displays, and handle transactions with accuracy and efficiency, as well as train and oversee the day-to-day work of our Sales Associates.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Provide a welcoming and helpful experience to all customers by answering their questions, offering product recommendations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Product Knowledge: Learn about our bakery products, including ingredients, prices, and packaging, to effectively communicate this information to customers and help them make informed choices.
  • Stocking and Display Maintenance: Ensure bakery display cases and shelves are well stocked and visually appealing. Regularly check inventory levels and assist with restocking as needed.
  • Leadership: Oversee Sales Associates, assist with training, and assign duties during scheduled shifts.
  • Point of Sale System: Accurately process cash and credit card transactions using our POS system. Handle financial transactions with integrity and attention to detail.
  • Cake Writing: Write messages on cakes with icing, as needed.
  • Sales Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized sales area and ensure all areas meet our hygiene and safety standards.
  • Opening and Closing Duties: Assist with various tasks related to opening and closing the store, including making coffee, preparing registers, tagging products, and securing the store at the end of the day.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous customer service or retail experience required, with leadership experience preferred.
  • A customer-focused individual with strong communication and math skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing customer inquiries and challenges.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and presentation.
  • Ability to stand or be in motion throughout your shift and lift and carry trays weighing up to 50 pounds.

 

Schedule

  • Full-Time: 40 hours/week; 5 days/week (Monday-Saturday, with one weekday off)
  • Shifts: Varying 8-hour shifts, both opening and closing shifts (subject to change based on needs)
  • No late nights: We close at 6 p.m. and are closed on Sundays and major holidays, which include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $15-$16/hour, based on experience.
